How To Build A Holiday Light Show

Let me show you how I built my Holiday light show!

Here you will find helpful videos showing you how I built my holiday light show. I produce 2 front yard shows a year, one for Halloween and another for Christmas. I started building my show the first year with a simple Megatree Christmas tree and a laptop running XSchedule using my Xlights sequences I programmed. The following years I expanded to adding lights on my house, props such as ghosts, spinners and arches and then adding a Matrix board. I moved from playing the show on a laptop computer to playing the show from a raspberry pi that I built. Along the way I’ve created videos that detail each section of my show. What separates my front yard lights from many other houses is that my lights dance to beat of music. When visitors drive by they can tune their car radio to the radio station I have broadcasting for my front yard to hear the music. If you are looking to build a light show synced to music for your yard, I suggest that you start small and over time grow the show to include more lights and more songs. Sequencing songs can take many hours, so to save you time, my store offers song sequences for purchase that you can use for your front yard light show as well.
